The Aliens are a Scottish band consisting of former Beta Band members Gordon Anderson (aka Lone Pigeon, lead vocals, guitar), John Maclean (keyboards, backing vocals) and Robin Jones (drums, backing vocals).
A decade on, The Aliens mark their return with the Electronville EP, an album length concept EP (they’re aliens and they’ll do what they want!) driven by the mercurial songwriting of Gordon Anderson AKA Lone Pigeon, former alumni on Domino Recordings.

Sampling remains at the core of The Avalanches sound, but alongside all of the sample ghosts, We Will Always Love You features an array of living guests who contribute vocals and lyrics: Blood Orange, Rivers Cuomo, Pink Siifu, Jamie xx, CLYPSO, Denzel Curry, Tricky, Neneh Cherry, Sampa the Great, Sananda Maitreya and Vashti Bunyan and more. The Avalanches’s music has always dripped with melody, but because of this expanded role for guest singers and writers, We Will Always Love You is their most song-oriented album yet.
Take Care In Your Dreaming featuring alt-rapper Denzel Curry, Tricky and Melbourne based Zambian rapper-singer Sampa The Great is a song about unrealised dreams and navigating unexpected journeys through life. “The song is a ‘careful what you wish for’ kind of thing.”
Music Makes Me High is truly an up tempo number, this disco-funk tune has a golden glow that simultaneously casts back to tunes like The Whispers’s And The Beat Goes On and to the filter- house echoes of that era such as Stardust Music Feels Better With You and Gusto’s Disco’s Revenge. “There’s a gospel choir on there, but very softly in the mix, singing over the ‘music makes me high’ sample.”
Sparkling with the treble frequencies that made Since I Left You such a dizzy thrill, We Will Always Love You is dedicated to probing “the vibrational relationship between light, sound and spirit.” But the goal now is elevation rather than intoxication.
Belle and Sebastian present twenty-two live performances featuring songs from across their 25 year career. The recordings showcase the Scottish septet at the height of their power during their 2019 tour, including tracks performed on the band's own Mediterranean cruise, The Boaty Weekender.

Imploding The Mirage is the sixth album from Brandon Flowers and co.
Róisín Murphy releases her fifth album, titled Róisín Machine via Skint and BMG. The album, which was made with Murphy's regular collaborator Crooked Man, AKA DJ Parrot, follows 2015's Hairless Toys (which was nominated for a Mercury Prize) and 2016's Take Her Up To Monto, as well as her four-EP project with Maurice Fulton in 2018. Among its ten tracks are previously released singles likeNarcissus and Murphy's Law.
Muse brings their Simulation Theory tour to life in this limited edition 80s-inspired deluxe box set. The box set includes a pink / blue marbled LP with selections from the band’s September 2019 performance at London’s O2 Arena housed in a gatefold jacket, a VHS-like box containing a HD 5.1 DTS Master Audio Blu-Ray of the film, a fluorescent pink cassette of the film score written by Matt Bellamy, a Marvel Simulation Theory comic book and an 11x17 Marvel Muse poster. Each box has metallic foil packaging.

Album four, and ACR pushed their sounds into new directions again. This is a more jazz-infused album that continues to receive critical acclaim today after the initial confused reaction, just like all the real classic albums that were misunderstood originally.

Mondo is proud to present the original soundtrack album, for one of the most beloved films of all time: Back to the Future. In celebration of the 35th anniversary of the film, Mondo has partnered with the legendary poster artist Drew Struzan, the artist behind the original theatrical one-sheet, to create all-new packaging for this re-issue. Featuring illustrations and unused poster art created in 1985 for the film, this vinyl reissue has been remastered and pressed on 180 Gram Colored vinyl.
Originally released in 1974, CSNY’s first compilation album So Far highlights the group’s first two critically acclaimed and highly successful albums; Déjà Vu and Crosby, Stills and Nash. After David Crosby left The Byrds, Stephen Stills’ band Buffalo Springfield had broken up and Graham Nash had left The Hollies; the trio formed one of the first, and still to this day greatest, supergroups. Under the same CSN, they recorded the band’s debut album Crosby, Stills and Nash to real fanfare. It shot the group into superstardom, culminating in a Grammy award for Best New Artist in 1970. Previously also part of Buffalo Springfield, Neil Young joined the band as their fourth member and the result was the band’s opus, Déjà Vu; a folk-rock classic. The album is revered to this day, consistently included in best albums of all-time lists in the media. So Far includes tracks from both of these albums, as well as the highly popular non-album single Ohio, alongside its’ B-side Find The Cost Of Freedom.
The debut album by Frankie Goes to Hollywood was released in 1984 after the runaway success of the singles Relax and Two Tribes. It had orders of over a million copies and went straight in at number one in the UK album chart. Produced by Trevor Horn, it was seen as a ground-breaking release and helped define pop music production in the eighties.
Frightened Rabbit’s The Winter Of Mixed Drinks turns ten this year and in order to celebrate, FatCat Records will release an Anniversary Edition of the LP. Boasting Limited Edition Ice Blue Vinyl, the Anniversary Edition will also feature an additional bonus 7” featuring two previously unreleased live tracks, remixed and remastered for this release.
The Winter Of Mixed Drinks was written over seven weeks in the isolated but beautiful coastal town of Crail in Fyfe, Scotland, following heavy touring in support of the band’s second album The Midnight Organ Fight. Grant Hutchi- son, drummer, stated “the location had a big impact on the songs. There’s definitely a nautical theme to a lot of the tracks and a feeling of testing yourself to the limit which the sea plays a big part in.”
The album was primarily recorded at Castle Sound Studios in Scotland, with additional recording and production taking place at Tarquin Studios in Connecticut, alongside their trusted producer Peter Katis.
Upon release in March 2010, the album was greeted with widespread critical acclaim, with Drowned in Sound praising frontman Scott Hutchison, describing his performance as having “the same tremble in the voice, the same elegance in the guitar tone, the same march of the Military Tattoo in the rhythm – but a renewed purpose.” The Fly also praised Scott, claiming him to be “one of the most underrated voices in rock,” and going furtherstating, “what more could you possibly want from Frightened Rabbit’s third album? They’re hurling themselves fearlessly at the bright lights, and coming back all the stronger for it.” The Guardian praised the album’s “sharp” song- writing, stating, “most of their songs – with themes of escape, freedom and reinvention – have huge impassioned choruses that are made to be shouted from the nearest available mountain,” whilst the NME maintained the album to be “stunning,”and further wrote “for every song of heartache (“Yes, I Would”) and self-loathing (“The Loneliness & The Scream”), there’s one of redemption (“FootShooter”) or hope (“Swim Until You Can’t See Land”). The album deviates from their previous alt-folkish sensibilities: the fuzzed-up shoegazing of “Things” and the anthemic chorus of “Living In Colour” herald an exciting new bullshit-free dawn.”
After two years of seemingly endless tours, the quartet returned in early 2004 to Peter Katis’s Tarquin Studios in Bridgeport, Conn., to record their second album. They had already debuted a handful of songs earmarked for Antics on the road: Length of Love, Narc, C’mere. Meanwhile, having revisited – and reinvented– the material from Bright Lights night after night, they discovered new strengths. There was more room for experimentation in these songs, for toying with arrangements and intricacies of individual parts, than on their debut.
With Antics, Interpol has delivered a disc even more engaging than its celebrated predecessor, without sacrificing any of the depth that has made them such an important band for so many. The songs are at once catchier and more variegated, revealing themselves over time to a degree heard on few current releases, and nothing is ever obvious. Frontman Paul Banks describes, “A lot of time, there are specific topics or events that that inspire the songs, but it’s not explicit in my lyrics.“ Indeed, with Interpol, things are rarely what they seem.
Our Love to Admire marked a critical and commercial breakthrough for the band. Recorded at New York's Electric Lady and the Magic Shop studios with producer Rich Costey (Muse, Death Cab for Cutie), the album boasts an expansive, cinematic sound that drove home such notable songs as The Heinrich Maneuver, Pioneer to the Falls, No I In Threesome, Mammoth and Rest My Chemistry. Upon its release, the album debuted in the Top Five in both the U.S. and the U.K. Interpol formed in the late 1990s and quickly established a dense, intoxicating sound featuring layers of guitar, bass and synthesizers. The band came up through the vibrant New York scene, alongside such notable contemporaries as the Strokes and the National, but gained crucial early attention in Britain, where they recorded a prestigious live session for legendary BBC DJ John Peel.
Jamie xx releases a remastered version of his debut album In Colour on Young Turks. Jamie’s definitive In Colour is a bold, celebratory and emotional artistic statement that received critical acclaim across the board as well achieving huge commercial success.
The eleven track LP was widely regarded as one of the best albums of 2015 and was voted in the top 25 of Pitchfork’s best records of the decade. In Colour went on to receive Grammy, Brit and Mercury Award nominations, reaching Gold status in the UK Official Charts, and it’s lead single I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times) featuring Young Thug and Popcaan is certified Gold in the USA.
The Kills have compiled an extraordinary career spanning b-sides and rarities album titled, appropriately, Little Bastards. The songs date back from the band’s first 7-inch singles in 2002 through to 2009. All of the material has been newly remastered for release and marks the first ever vinyl pressing for some of these tracks.
The compilation includes the unreleased and never-before-heard demo Raise Me from the 2008-2009 Midnight Boom era. Other highlights include I Call It Art from the Monsieur Gainsbourg Revisited covers compilation, the brilliant Midnight Boom digital bonus track Night Train, a blistering performance of Love Is A Deserter from an XFM radio session and a handful of classic American roots songs performed with the kind of bruising delivery they’re famous for: Howlin’ Wolfs’ Forty Four, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’ I Put A Spell on You and Dock Boggs’ Sugar Baby.
Havoc and Bright Lights is the eighth studio album by Alanis Morissette and became her first top five album in the US since 2004’s So-Called Chaos. The album peaked at number one in Canada, Italy, Austria and Switzerland, and at number two in the Netherlands and Germany.
Havoc and Bright Lights was produced by Guy Sigsworth and Joe Chiccarelli and sounds much brighter, sunnier and up-tempo than her previous album Flavors of Entanglement, winding up with a wide-open, cheerful set of adult pop.
The album spawned three singles; Guardian, Lens and Receive. Now available as a limited edition of 2000 individually numbered copies on turquoise vinyl. The package includes a 4-page booklet with pictures and lyrics.
Nuovo Cinema Paradiso was a critical and box-office success and is regarded by many as a classic. It is particularly renowned for the 'kissing scenes' montage at the film's end. Ennio Morricone (1928-2020) composed and arranged the score of the movie.
The self-titled 1996 album re-issued on vinyl for the very first time. Hubcap 2020 reissue.
Common Sense was John Prine’s fourth studio album, and final album released with Atlantic Records before moving to Asylum. Produced by Booker T. and the M.G.’s guitarist and songwriter Steve Cropper, the album features a number of headline collaborators such as Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne and Glenn Fray; as well as Steve Goodman continuing to feature with Prine. Tracks such as Forbidden Jimmy and Saddle In The Rain show a slight change in Prine’s sound with Cropper’s production. The album also features a cover of Chuck Berry’s You Can Never Tell.
The second full-length album of Danish Fifties / Psych Pop duo The Raveonettes was released in 2005. On Pretty In Black, Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo abandoned the strict recording rules the band laid upon themselves on their preceding efforts. Instead, the group further expands on their signature sound of Fifties inspired Rockabilly Noise Pop with the eerie feel of a thriller movie soundtrack. Special appearances on this album are made by Maureen Tucker of Velvet Underground on drums, Martin Rev on drum machine and Ronnie Spector, also known as Veronica Bennett of the fabulous Ronettes on backup vocals.
Available as a limited 15th anniversary edition of 1500 individually numbered copies on crystal clear (transparent) vinyl. The package includes a 4-page insert.
Outside Your Room is the fourth EP by Slowdive, released in 1993, two weeks prior to the release of their successful album Souvlaki. The title is taken from the lyrics of the song Alison, which reached No. 69 in the UK Singles Chart. Side A also features the lazy lurcher So Tired. The flip side features the hypnotic, smouldering near-instrumental dub of Souvlaki Space Station and closes withMoussaka Chaos.
The Twang's iconic debut album Love It When I Feel Like This is re-released on a limited edition run of vinyl. Faithfully reproduced using original artwork and pressed on transparent orange vinyl the double disc release features the singles Wide Awake, Either Way and Two Lovers along with the vinyl only bonus trackYour Beats. The Birmingham band originally released the album in 2007 after counting Noel Gallagher and Jo Whiley as fans. At the time, they were named ‘Best New Band in Britain’ by NME and ‘one of 2007’s rising stars’ (The Sun).
The Dark Knight Rises is a 2012 multiple award winning superhero film directed by Christopher Nolan, who co-wrote the screenplay with his brother Jonathan Nolan (Westworld). The soundtrack was composed by the legendary Hans Zimmer (Inception, Interstellar, Gladiator). The Dark Knight Rises main themes were composed by Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard, but Howard did not return to the series to score this film and was not credited as a composer. Zimmer said that in his attempt to create a sound that nobody has ever heard, he had a very ambitious idea for the film, but that it was so experimental, he didn’t know if it would actually work. As with the soundtracks for Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, this album features a beautiful array of distinctive, unforgettable pieces that capture the essence of the characters, the film’s major sequences/moments and exemplary pacing.
The Dark Knight Rises is available as a limited edition of 1500 copies individually numbered copies on clear, blue, red marbled vinyl. The wonderful package includes a 4-page insert, exclusive litho of movie poster and a magnifique fridge magnet.

Relapse Records presents 2R0I2P0, the brand new collaborative album from Boris and Merzbow. The 10 track album showcases every bit of the excitement and pulse-pounding rock and metal heard throughout the inimitable, expansive Boris catalog, as it meets the signature harsh noise and soundscapes of the equally prolific Merzbow
An album that is at once familiar and unique for its time, melodic and harsh in equal parts, 2R0I2P0 aims to find sonic harmony. After all, 2R0I2P0 translates to Twenty Twenty R.I.P. "This year was a period of trial for everyone in the world," Boris comments. "This work becomes a monument to the requiem of the previous era. From here, a new world begins again."
Written and recorded during the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Black Hole Understands is “a record born of this early quarantine anxiety and confusion,” according to vocalist/guitarist Dylan Baldi. About a month into quarantine, Baldi and drummer Jayson Gerycz started sending files back and forth, with guitars, bass and vocals tracked in Philadelphia and drums and mixing undertaken in Cleveland. This remote recording process presented a new set of restrictions for Cloud Nothings, completely removing the element of interactive jamming and tightening the production around a set of streamlined summer pop songs.
Every Cloud Nothings record, from their 2010 debut Turning On through to 2014’s Attack On Memory and 2018’s Last Building Burning, has had its own distinct feel. But The Black Hole Understands eschews the noisy thrash and improv tendencies that emerged on later albums, in favor of dreamy, poppy vocals that float over fast, jangly songs.
With clean hooks and uncluttered arrangements (a synth overdub from Bee Mask's Chris Madak is the album's only guest feature), the songs on The Black Hole Understands are the kind of concise, hook-heavy blasts the band was churning out in their earliest days, albeit a little more distant and weary. Hyper-melodic and high-energy, The Black Hole Understands also shows a restraint that fits with the strange times that it was born of, carrying a sense of melancholy and cautious optimism that mirrors the restless dread of life on lockdown.

This compilation brings together all of their recorded output, plus the two BBC sessions and the four tracks which appeared on the demos EP in 2011.
Talulah Gosh were an Indiepop group from Oxford and one of the leading bands of the twee pop / C86 scene, their name came from the headline of an NME interview with Clare Grogan. They formed when Amelia Fletcher and Elizabeth Price, both wearing Pastels badges, met at a club in Oxford. Formed in 1986, their original line-up comprised Amelia Fletcher (vocals, guitar), her younger brother Mathew Fletcher (drums), Peter Momtchiloff (lead guitar), Rob Pursey (bass) and Elizabeth Price (vocals). Rob left early on, to be replaced by Chris Scott. Elizabeth left in 1987 to be replaced by Eithne Farry. They called it a day in late 1988 with Amelia, Mathew and Peter reappearing soon after as Heavenly.
Laura Jane Grace wasn’t planning on making a solo record this year. In fact, she was planning on making a record with Against Me!, the band she’s fronted for the past 23 years. But clearly, nothing went according to plan this year.
So, Grace got to work. She picked up the phone and called Electrical Audio, the iconic studio in her adopted hometown of Chicago, Illinois, to ask if she could make a record with famed engineer Steve Albini. The goal was to go in and document these songs exactly as she’d been playing them in her home, straight to analog tape. When she hung up the phone, she had four days booked.
The result of the session at Electrical Audio is Stay Alive, a record that doesn’t just embody that title, it serves as the guiding principle behind its creations. But it also put life back into an industry that’s been ravaged by venue closures, cancelled tours, and delayed records.
There are songs on this album about haunted swimming pools and burning churches. There are songs about mountains. There are songs about astral seas and dry lakes. There are songs about drinking espressos and eating croissants at the Bora Bora beach club in Marbella, Spain. There are songs about dirty rivers that smell like pee in Glasgow, Scotland. There are songs about Nelson Algren’s Neon Jungle and Simone de Beauvoir's Mandarines.
A brand new compilation featuring Heavenly's classic indiepop singles.
Heavenly debuted with the 7" single I Fell in Love Last Night, followed by another 7", Our Love Is Heavenly, both released in 1990 on Sarah Records. Heavenly vs. Satan, the group's debut album, came out in 1991. At this stage in their career, Heavenly's songs were still mainly concerned with an innocent view of love, whether or not requited, and the instrumentation remained very much the same jangly guitar style used by Talulah Gosh. Before releasing the critically acclaimed Le Jardin de Heavenly, Cathy Rogers (keyboard, back-up vocals) joined the band. Her harmony vocals and keyboards became an integral part of the group's sound. Before their next long-player, Heavenly released two non-album 7" singles, P.U.N.K. Girl and 'Atta Girl'. These signalled a growing complexity in Amelia's songwriting, particularly Atta Girl, in which Amelia and Cathy sung in rapid-fire trade-off vocals. A broadening (and darkening) of lyrical subject matter was shown in the B-side, Hearts and Crosses, which told the story of a date rape, with an upbeat keyboard riff providing an ironic counterpoint. The band's third LP was The Decline and Fall of Heavenly (1994). Here the group were at their most commercial and at their most attuned with the growing Britpop movement. The arrangements expanded even more to include strings and a large amount of percussion, and the dual-vocal trick was used on several tracks. Lyrically, the old romantic view of love was largely banished, but the tunes remained as upbeat and joyful as ever. In 1995, the band contributed the song Snail Trail to the AIDS benefit album Red Hot and Bothered produced by the Red Hot Organization. The group's last album was Operation Heavenly (1996). Arriving in the middle of the Britpop boom, the album contained such fine singles as Space Manatee andTrophy Girlfriend. Despite the closing of Sarah Records and release on Wiiija, the album was still recognisably the Heavenly sound. Shortly before the release of Operation Heavenly, Mathew Fletcher, the band's drummer and Amelia's brother, committed suicide. The remaining members announced that the band name Heavenly was to be retired.

As Christmas 1969 beckoned, Jimi Hendrix, bassist Billy Cox, and drummer Buddy Miles (christened as Band Of Gypsys by Hendrix) engaged in extensive rehearsals for their highly anticipated appearances at The Fillmore East in New York. To mark the occasion in his own inimitable fashion, Jimi readied this special medley of holiday favourites to celebrate both Christmas and the dawning of a new decade. This medley of Little Drummer Boy, Silent Night and Auld Lang Syne, backed by Three Little Bears, a playful Electric Ladyland outtake from 1968, now available on picture disc, featuring the album artwork on one side and a photo of Jimi dressed as Santa Claus on the other.
Psych-rock overlords King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard announced they’d be giving away Polygondwanaland - their fourth LP of the year - for free and for everyone to do with as they please. Naturally, it was pretty inevitable that it was to be given the Fuzz Club treatment. Priding themselves on high-quality vinyl pressings, Fuzz Club have created a must for audiophiles and record collectors alike. The lacquer was cut at half-speed by engineer-extraordinaire Miles Showell (The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Who) over at Abbey Road Studios, which means that every tiny little detail of King Gizzards’ wonky, hedonistic sonic prowess has made its way into the record’s grooves. Not only will it sound absolutely incredible but it’ll also look the part too. With alternative artwork, the LP is housed in a deluxe tip-on gatefold jacket with printed inner-sleeves and glued inside the gatefold will be a 16-page booklet which includes lyrics and a bunch of reworked illustrations taken from the original artwork provided by the band. Aside from all of that, Polygondwanaland also happens to be the Australian band’s finest record to date. Whilst on their previous albums they’ve dealt in everything from jazz, soul and folk through to krautrock, stoner and doom, on this collection of tracks the Australian heavyweights hone their batch to psych-freak-outs into ten mind altering prog-tainted jams.

Last Christmas, the soundtrack album, features 3 fabulous Wham! songs including Last Christmas, Everything She Wants as well as 12 George Michael solo tracks from throughout his career. The film began when the acclaimed British film producer David Livingstone (best known for the BAFTA Award winning feature film Pride, and the Renee Zellweger feature, Judy) spoke of his love of Wham!’s iconic hit Last Christmas to the Oscar-winning actor, producer and screenwriter, Emma Thompson. That conversation sowed the seed of a winning idea: to make a film inspired by Last Christmas, and in Spring 2013, Emma Thompson visited George Michael who gave her his blessing. After the 2017 film Freedom opened up the musical worlds of George Michael to Paul Feig, the director immersed himself in George’s entire catalogue and selected tracks to complement the film’s narrative. Highlights include the much-loved hits, Faith, Fastlove and Freedom '90 alongside such surprises as Heal The Pain, Waiting For That Day and the MTV Unplugged version of Praying For Time which George himself adored. As Paul Feig says, the result is “A love letter to George”. Then Emma Thompson heard the new George Michael song, This Is How (We Want You To Get High) and she instantly knew that the song had to be part of Last Christmas. So to the new and sixth record by Pharaoh Overlord - a cataclysmic clash with bewitching results. The band’s current duo of Tomi Leppänen and Jussi Lehtisalo first channelled their love of krautrock-damaged monomania into synth-driven motorik soundscapes on 2019’s 5 yet this new exploration is a step way beyond, into a chilly and captivating electronic panorama. Beholden to the melodies and textures of Kraftwerk yet also the cinematic austerity of EBM and the effervescent pulse of classic Italo-pop, it’s further abetted by fierce and corrosive vocals from longtime collaborator and Sumac / Isis / Old Man Gloom seer Aaron Turner, which stand atop these futuristic serenades not unlike the fevered delivery of a dystopian hellfire preacher. The result, richly coherent yet startling even for the unpredictable world of this band, arrives like a series of otherworldly epiphanies.
The opening Path Eternal sets its stall out in style, marrying Moroder and Mayhem with a hint of the apocalypse manifesto of Skinny Puppy lurking in the middle distance. Arms Of The Butcher is a strident anthem for a modern pandemonium, Blue Light Hum meanwhile comes on like a robotic Neu! summoning end-credits euphoria. And most audaciously of all, ‘Without Song All Will Perish’ takes the urbane yet decadent sound of Voulez-Vous-era ABBA and reinvents it as a venomous disco Gotterdämerrung. Aaron Turner was sent this material by Tom and Jussi and initially ask to contribute to two or three songs to a sharp deadline, but the results soon revealed themselves to be so powerful that he ended up writing lyrics for the whole album, his vicious but uplifiting vision taking inspiration from the melodic yet scabrous likes of Killing Joke, Leatherface and Kill The Thrill.
Written as the pandemic began to dominate world events in 2020, the resulting emotional turmoil couldn’t help but heavily affect its lyrical slant of this record. 6 has therefore become a record based on separation – the physical distance between the band members themselves, as well as the isolation of the quarantine itself. Yet it’s also a record concerned with finding a way forward amidst the modern cataclysms that surround - channelling negative experience into a positive change.
